Captain John Aydelotte and son Jason received a Commendation from the Washington State Patrol for their lifesaving efforts rescuing and transporting an accident victim who was thrown into the waters of Deception Pass after crashing her truck through the guard rail and plummeting 180`down the rocky cliff into the water.
Senator Mary Margaret Haugen and State Patrol Chief Annette Sandberg presented the lifesaving award to the Aydelottes.
The Aydelotte’s have operated their Marine Services at Cornet Bay, Whidbey Island for twenty years, Rescuing, Towing, Salvaging, and Repairing Boats. With a small fleet dedicated to Vessel Assist services & on call divers and crew, their expeditious response often saves lives, protects property and the environment
Captain Aydelotte sr. founded North Whidbey Fire Department’s Water Rescue team, volunteering for twelve years as team leader, Now his son John is team leader. Mariners in the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands are all safer due to this family’s dedication to water safety.
